The Purple Series TV series was produced as an alternative to the “victimized”, “oppressed” woman image we often encounter in the media, and also as a visual training material by Women for Women’s Human Rights (WWHR) – New Ways and the national TV news station NTV in 2006. It was aired on NTV the same year and on local TV stations in various cities of Turkey afterwards. The 12 episode Purple Series is a documentary series based on the countless stories of how women are able to exercise their rights in different spheres of their lives through Human Rights Training Program for Women (HREP), and also provides basic key information on women’s human rights and the legal framework in Turkey in an accessible manner.
